The Opportunity Your Impact Starts Here WSP has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Archaeologist to join our Heritage team in British Columbia. In this role, you will help shape meaningful projects across the province—protecting cultural landscapes, supporting responsible development, and collaborating closely with Indigenous communities. You will gain diverse field and project experience as part of our province‑wide Heritage team, with the flexibility to be based in Kelowna, Castlegar, Cranbrook, Kamloops, or Rossland . Your Impact Lead archaeological field programs, including survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring. Collaborate with clients, Indigenous groups, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives. Build strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous communities throughout the project lifecycle. Provide mentorship and direction to junior team members. Manage project scope, schedule, and budget with support from the Heritage leadership team. Maintain and track health & safety, quality, communication, and documentation requirements. Champion WSP’s Health & Safety culture by modelling a “Safety First” mindset. Contribute to proposals, technical reporting, and analytical work. The Skills That Set You Apart Field Director status in the Interior Plateau Culture Area, or strong progress toward qualification. Experience leading or supervising archaeological field programs. Commitment and enthusiasm for working with Indigenous communities. Demonstrated ability to identify, record, and evaluate archaeological sites. Comfortable performing fieldwork in variable weather and remote conditions. Skilled with standard field technology, including GPS and tablets; ESRI Field Maps experience is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Detail‑oriented, organized, and driven by high‑quality results. Strong experience writing interim and final permit reports.
