We are looking for a Training Supervisor to oversee the health of training programs and facilities, including analysis, design, development, and conduct; evaluation; and monitoring of implementation and effectiveness, to ensure that training programs are in accordance with CNL processes and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Assign and oversee Training Consultants as they prepare, execute, and maintain effective Training Programs that provide CNL employees with the skills and knowledge required to competently perform their job while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensure training requirements are documented, implemented, and monitored for CNL staff in accordance with CNL requirements as described in Training & Development’s Management System documents. Plan, coordinate, and review the development, delivery, and maintenance of initial, specialized, and continuing training program materials, including classroom and field On-Job-Training and Field Checkouts. Oversee Training Consultants in the development and utilization of comprehensive training analyses to determine the training needs of employees, including the design, development, documentation, implementation, evaluation, validation, and management of training programs to meet the requirements. Develop and implement training policies and standards that meet industry standards to produce comprehensive and auditable training programs. Interview, hire, train, and develop Training and Development personnel. Oversee Training Consultants in the design and development of course content that addresses identified performance gaps while providing a positive learning experience for trainees. Lead and monitor the performance of various large and complex projects and/or training development initiatives. Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of CNL training programs. Conduct self-assessments in accordance with CNL self-assessment procedures to assist clients in analyzing and identifying performance improvement opportunities. Plan, facilitate, and lead team and client meetings using a variety of human performance techniques to resolve training issues that affect organizational learning and overall effectiveness. Perform research, such as industry benchmarking, OPEX, training standards and best practices, to enable appropriate client training solutions. Provide leadership and support in the overall prioritization and coordination of Workforce Learning and Capability Program (WLCP) training activities. Maintain and provide ready access to training records for all WLCP staff. Ensure employee training requirements are accurate and up to date. Manage resources for assigned training development projects, including contract staff or external consultants, around the delivery of specialized technical training. Conduct performance reviews and objectives setting with Training and Development Personnel, and write scopes of work in accordance with procurement guidelines. Act as the principal WLCP user and a site representative for learning management system training databases. Identify and report any real or potential safety hazards; wear all required safety equipment and participate in all required safety training. Adhere to Workplace Safety and Health procedures and WHIMIS program. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager. Qualifications Education A degree from a university of recognized standing or a college diploma in Training Development and/or Education, or a relevant technical field, plus a minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant experience. Experience Minimum seven (7) years’ training experience in a technical or industrial environment, including design, development, and delivery of technical, practical, and classroom training. In the absence of post-secondary education, a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in a training and development environment, with a demonstrated ability to assume the responsibilities described. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a direct training role requiring the application of the principles of a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) or an equivalent process (ADDIE). Previous supervisory experience is an asset. Experience working in a nuclear field or an environment with high levels of external regulation (e.g., CNSC, TSSA, CSA, ISO) is an asset. Experience in facilitation techniques, coaching, and training delivery. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of technical training, tying learning objectives to performance. Thorough knowledge of the application of SAT. Knowledge of operations systems and processes and an understanding of requirements for conducting work safely and efficiently. Advanced abilities using computer software such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Ability to accommodate and support unique learning styles of trainees to ensure successful training completion. Strong analytical skills, able to evaluate training requirements and generate effective solutions and recommendations. Demonstrated team leadership skills, including the ability to develop a collaborative, team‑oriented environment. Excellent judgement and communication skills (oral and written). Demonstrated initiative and judgement to organize and maintain the flow of work and accuracy of records. Detail‑oriented with the ability to understand detailed information. Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage time, and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to maintain successful working relationships at all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders. Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize work and delegate assignments to others. Ability to observe the work of others and provide coaching and feedback. Ability to set goals, review performance, and conduct performance review interviews. Knowledge of processes and procedures for performance management. Knowledge of processes and procedures for injury illness reporting and return‑to‑work programs. Knowledge of Human Performance Program requirements. Knowledge of license requirements for training and regulatory and legislative requirements. Knowledge of Management System. Security clearance eligibility required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3‑5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. Security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.” Working Conditions Compressed work week: four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week, starting at 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Long periods of sitting, typing, and reading require heightened focus and increased visual strain. Fast‑paced environment with competing priorities and multiple work assignments for a broad range of clients simultaneously. Physical agility required to perform all aspects of the work that involves bending, lifting, and mobility; ability to wear and work in protective clothing and use equipment as required. Requirement to perform overtime or work irregular schedules to support key project milestones. Requirement to travel to other sites.
