We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. This position is 100% onsite in downtown Calgary. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role. Role Description The Senior Business Analyst will be part of the broader Business Transformation team accountable for delivering the mid-to-long-term ERP Modernization roadmap, Business Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy and development and cost competitive initiatives with a focus on value creation. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated Business Transformation team (BT) working closely with the Business Opportunity Managers (BOMs), Portfolio Management, AI development and various business functions/groups to document and advance Cenovus in areas of process, data, operating models and business AI use cases. This role reports to the Business Engagement Lead. Responsibilities Work with BOMs to create and document business cases for each initiative ensuring iterations and updates are made throughout the early stages and are ready for handoff to execution team(s) as required. Work with leader, the business and the AI team to capture business use cases and effectively prioritize or score them for execution. Conduct or participate in workshops to document both current and future state processes including where key controls, data, people and technology intersect as part of any non-technical or IT projects. Work with BOMs and AI Developers to capture value proposition metrics and key performance indicators for AI and/or ERP initiatives ensuring business alignment and set expected measurement criteria to be evaluated at project completion. Participate in and support the creation of project stage gate materials, including required decision records, ensuring accurate representation of risks, uncertainties and interdependencies in business cases being presented to the Steering Committee. Continually work with and communicate cross functionally with operations and business functions to align on value accretive opportunities while effectively prioritizing those opportunities across Cenovus and maintaining diligence to guiding principles of the Business Transformation team. Requests as appropriate based on evolving and changing needs of the Business Transformation team. Required Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Minimum 8 years experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge and experience in and oil and gas environment. Demonstrated advance problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, build relationships and influence without authority. Understanding and experience with ERP systems, niche applications and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI). Effectively communicates complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
