This newly created role is designed to bring dedicated HR leadership directly to the Kitimat operation, providing hands‑on support to site leadership and employees rather than managing people issues remotely.The successful candidate will help strengthen workplace culture, support operational growth, and build trusted relationships across a diverse workforce that includes marine professionals, tradespeople, hospitality staff, and local community members. This role is ideal for someone who brings practical HR experience, sound judgment, and credibility in industrial or project-based environments.ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary on‑site HR resource for employees and leaders across multiple operational teamsBuild trusted relationships with employees, supervisors, and leadership teamsProvide guidance on employee relations matters including performance management, workplace conflict, conduct issues, and terminationsSupport a positive, accountable, and respectful workplace culturePartner with operational leaders on workforce planning and staffing needsCoordinate recruitment activities and support hiring processes for the Kitimat operationEnsure hiring documentation and approvals are organized and aligned with company standardsSupport onboarding and consistent HR practices across the siteStrengthen relationships with local Indigenous communities and support Indigenous employment initiativesAct as a culturally aware liaison between operations and community stakeholdersEnsure HR policies and employment practices are applied consistently across the operationMonitor workforce engagement and proactively identify potential employee concernsProvide ongoing communication and updates to senior HR leadership while operating independently on day‑to‑day site mattersRequirements5+ years of progressive HR experience in industrial, construction, marine, resource, or heavy operations environmentsProven experience handling employee relations, recruitment, and workforce planningComfortable working in direct, operational, and technical workplace culturesStrong communication skills with the ability to build credibility and trust quicklyExperience supporting remote, project‑based, or field operations is considered an assetUnderstanding of Indigenous community engagement and culturally respectful workplace practicesStrong judgment and ability to balance business needs with employee supportAbility to work independently and partner effectively with operational leadershipCPHR designation or related education is considered an assetPreference for candidates already located in the Kitimat or Terrace region, or those committed to relocatingRemunerationSalary range: $90,000 - $130,000Permanent, full‑time opportunityCompetitive benefits packageOnly candidates eligible to work in Canada will be considered#J-18808-Ljbffr
