Job Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager: Interiors to join Empire Envelope in Edmonton, AB. The role involves strategic leadership, operational oversight, and performance management of the Paint, Spray Foam, and Drywall departments, driving efficiency and ensuring a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. Responsibilities Provide leadership to Paint, Spray Foam, and Drywall managers, fostering a positive team culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Manage hiring, training, recruiting, and performance evaluations of direct reports in collaboration with HR. Implement strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and profitability and provide insight and strategy with Production/Estimating teams while approving new estimates. Collaborate with senior leadership to align departmental goals with company objectives. Liaise with direct reports to resolve project‑related issues while mitigating financial risk. Oversee resource allocation, scheduling, and material procurement in coordination with department managers. Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis for newly awarded work and multi‑family projects. Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and problem‑solving. Conduct regular team meetings and on‑site check‑ins, providing coaching and addressing performance issues as needed. Monitor divisional progress and address issues proactively with the Regional Manager. Implement operational processes for efficiency in alignment with market trends. Assist with the implementation and adherence of subcontractor rates for all related scopes. Prepare monthly reports for senior management, highlighting accomplishments, challenges, and areas for improvement. Provide accurate billing and cost projections to the accounting department. Qualifications Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Active listening and non‑judgmental approach to understanding others. Minimum seven years of construction management experience, preferably in interiors (paint, drywall, insulation). Proven leadership experience managing multiple teams or departments. Driver’s abstract and proof of eligibility to work in Canada required. Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint) and project‑management software.
