As a Construction Director working in the Industrial team at Pomerleau Construction, you will participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, scheduling, safety, quality and performance. Large‑scale Industrial projects ranging from $50 million to upwards of $1 billion will provide the context for your role, serving as the primary point of contact with clients on all project field activities. Responsibilities Ensure that all the civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work meets the requirements of the project specifications and drawings, is conducted within schedule and authorized budgets, and is executed in compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards. Provide overall technical and organisational direction for the project construction activities. Participate and ensure that there are site meetings, deal with Contractor(s) work progress, schedule reviews, and construction coordination. Maintain a daily project diary, attend meetings and be involved in constructability reviews. Monitor daily work and review contractors work plans, activities, and resources. Supervise and direct field staff. Coordinate and supervise the construction process from conceptual development stage through the final construction on a timely and economical basis, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and technical regulations and initiatives. Represent Pomerleau to assure all construction‑related activities performed by sub‑contractors are carried out in accordance with design, schedule, accounting requirements, and quality standards. Lead the construction team through the duration of construction, testing and commissioning of the project. Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs. Qualifications You have a University Degree in engineering / Architecture and/or a CEGEP DEC in engineering/Architecture/construction technology, or an equivalent trade certification with business, administrative, and management experience. PMP certification or an equivalent certification in one or more areas of construction management. Construction Site Safety course & WHMIS (SIMDUT) certification. Over 10 years of related work experience in construction management and at least 5 years of experience as a construction manager.
