NTT DATA is seeking a Sr Micro Focus COBOL Developer to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. The position is hybrid and requires a strong background in Micro Focus COBOL development and RPA. ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Micro Focus COBOL. Design, code, test, and debug COBOL programs based on business requirements. Work extensively with ISAM file systems for data storage, retrieval, and optimization. Build and maintain automation workflows using Python. Analyze business processes and identify automation opportunities. Integrate RPA solutions with APIs, databases, and third‑party systems. Perform data extraction, transformation, and analysis using Python. Develop reusable components and frameworks for automation. Analyze existing systems and propose performance improvements and modernization strategies. Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolution in production and non‑production environments. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Business Analysts, QA, and Infrastructure teams. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices. Create and maintain technical documentation for programs, enhancements, and processes. Support system integration efforts and interface with external systems. Work in Agile/Scrum environments based on project needs. Provide knowledge transfer and mentor junior developers when required. Qualifications8+ years of hands‑on experience in Micro Focus COBOL development. 8+ years of experience in COBOL programming (procedural and structured programming concepts). 8+ years of experience in Unix/Linux environments. 5+ years of experience with RPA tools.
