We feature fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, assembly departments and manufacture everything from small components to large structures, sheet metal to heavy plate.********This is a 6-month temporary assignment ********Compensation Range: $33.65 up to $44.00 hourlyPosition Summary Manufacturing Engineer The incumbent will support the engineering and manufacturing development cycle. In some cases, the candidate will act as a coordinator between the Customer, Business Development, Process Engineering, and Operations. They will be responsible for APQP, ECR/ECV, problem-solving, and capital procurement to ensure that project completion targets for time and budget are met.Lead product development/problem-solving projects/activities for new launch and current production parts, including, but not limited to, the following items:Develop robust and repeatable processes, designing and building fixtures and production methods that meet customer and internal requirementsIdentify and implement automation opportunities through capital procurementLead cross-functional teams in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions to resolve internal and external customer quality issuesAnalyze process data, including costs, to identify and develop process improvement opportunitiesSupport kaizen events as a member of cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing processes are optimized to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitSupport the quoting of new businessReview and develop standard procedures for Manufacturing and Engineering processesManage tasks and timelines to meet customer and Arrow expectationsMake decisions appropriate to the resolution of the specific tasks and activities assignedOther duties as requiredRequired Skills & ExpertiseDegree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering5+ years of related experience in a Manufacturing Engineering roleExtensive knowledge of welding processes, forming, and CNC machining of fabricated partsPreference will be given to candidates with previous experience in WeldingKnowledge of GD&T applications related to fixtures and gauges, and experience in work holding/fixture design and procurementExperience in Lean Manufacturing methods and tools (Lean/Six Sigma training an asset), with experience in Fixture Design and Process DesignExperience with capital procurement and project management for capital projectsProficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project)Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD/DraftSightKnowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949Other Preferred SkillsExperience with CNC programming and implementation is an assetExperience with welding, robot programming, and implementationExcellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and analyze difficult issuesStrong negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to perform both independently and with good judgment in a team environmentHealth and Safety ResponsibilityFollow policies and procedures put in place for employee safety and in compliance with the OSHAAsk the supervisor if unsure of the task or duty assigned Report unsafe conditions and potential hazards to the supervisorWear and maintain the proper PPE required for the taskDo not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conductDo not use or operate any equipment or work in a way that may endanger any workerReport any hazards or contraventions of the OHSAProficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, andUnderstanding or practical use of Visual Manufacturing SoftwareArrow is committed to diversity and inclusion.
