Position Title Data Modeler Location Toronto, ON Job Summary A Senior Data Modeler designs and implements data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and efficient storage and retrieval. They work with various stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical data structures. Senior Data Modelers also focus on maintaining data models, optimizing data flows, and adhering to data standards and security protocols. Key Responsibilities Work with SMEs to gather requirements. Analyze, understand, and translate business needs into long‑term solution data models. Implement data strategies and develop logical and physical data models. Enforce data modeling standards and best practices. Create detailed mapping documents covering source‑to‑target mapping, transformation logic, and communicate data models and their specifications. Use data modeling tools and software for model creation and management. Required Experience Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Data Modelling and Data Analysis. Technical Skills Hands‑on experience in various data modeling techniques such as ER Modeling and Dimensional Modeling. At least a few projects worked as a data modeler, specially designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Hands‑on experience translating business requirements into well‑defined data models in data modeling tools. Hands‑on experience with various data modeling tools, especially Erwin. Expertise and hands‑on experience with various databases and architecture computer systems, including advanced SQL, especially Netezza, SQL Server, DB2 UDB.
