TE2 Technical Engineering Officer 2 Regular/full-time Property Services, Manitoba Housing, Housing, Addictions and Homelessness – Churchill MB Salary: TE2 $76,675.00 - $94,665.00 per year. Duties Reporting to the Director of Assets and Capital Planning or designate, the incumbent provides technical advice to senior management, procurement services, property managers, and maintenance staff. The position manages capital projects, insurance claims, and coordinates the scheduling of trades staff and/or contractors and building superintendents for specialized maintenance. Responsibilities include renovation, reconstruction, technical repair work, and safe installation of equipment with minimum disruption to tenants. Qualifications Essential Completion of a post‑secondary degree or certificate in commercial construction or related field (including Interior Design, Architecture, Facility Management and Engineering). Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Experience coordinating and planning all phases of construction and facility‑related projects, including defining project scope, budgeting, scheduling, tendering, implementation and ongoing technical advice. Experience reviewing construction documentation and interpreting sketches and as‑built drawings. Experience providing customer service to diverse client groups, including elected officials, managers, technical and trades staff. Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage, prioritize and meet competing deadlines. Effective verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of clients. Excellent written communication skills and ability to prepare written correspondence. Strong understanding of current Building Codes, relevant legislation, municipal bylaws, and industry best practices related to construction. Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Desired Design experience, including experience with computer‑assisted drafting software (AutoCAD). Knowledge of green building practices and sustainable construction methods. Conditions of Employment Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Must possess and maintain a full Class 5 Driver’s Licence without restrictions; ability to use own vehicle for official purposes as required. Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search). Must be able to travel frequently within the city and occasionally throughout the province, which may include air travel. Must be able to work extended hours and overnight stays as needed.
