Job Overview The Chef & Kitchen Manager is a dual-role leadership position responsible for overseeing camp kitchen and housekeeping operations, with a mandate to deliver operational excellence in every aspect of service. The role is accountable for food and meal planning, inventory control, and all administrative functions related to billing, scheduling, and payroll, while maintaining full compliance with Food Safe, WHMIS, and all AOGS operational guidelines. The position requires sound judgment, irreproachable conduct, and strong administrative discipline, with an emphasis on training and supervising kitchen and housekeeping staff to consistently achieve excellence while enforcing AOGS standards, food safety programs, and workplace policies. Responsibilities Oversee camp kitchen and housekeeping operations to deliver operational excellence. Plan meals and manage inventory; handle billing, scheduling, and payroll administration. Ensure compliance with Food Safe, WHMIS, and AOGS guidelines. Train and supervise kitchen and housekeeping staff; enforce workplace policies. Qualifications Culinary diploma or Food safety certification. Experience managing kitchens in remote locations or camp settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with Indigenous culture and foods is an asset. Physically able to perform duties that require long shifts; lift up to 50 lbs (22 kg). Available for early morning shifts (as early as 4:00 am). Comply with workplace dress code requirements.
