Anticipated start date is October 1, 2026 or sooner if possible. Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) is a fully affiliated hospital of the U of T with over 1,300 beds, of which almost 700 are dedicated to acute care, including 128 intensive care beds. SHSC hosts Canada’s first and largest trauma program and has a dynamic Emergency Department (ED). The Emergency and Trauma Radiology Division (ETRD) serves both the ED population and emergencies of patients admitted to specialty programs such as the Tory Trauma Program, Odette Cancer Program, Schulich Heart Program, and Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program. Emergency radiologists at SHSC encounter a broad spectrum of acute conditions, including poly‑trauma, stroke, cardiovascular emergencies, thoracic and abdominal emergencies, and acute complications in oncology patients. The Department is equipped with state‑of‑the‑art imaging technology, including 1.5T and 3T MRI machines and four 64‑slice CT scanners with dual‑energy CT capability. All acute‑care imaging is interpreted 24/7 from a six‑station reading room embedded in the ED, adjacent to the CT and trauma bay. Responsibilities Interpret acute care imaging, including overnight on‑call coverage. Play a contributing role in all areas of subspecialty emergency and trauma imaging. Report a mix of acute‑care and outpatient imaging studies from other divisions during daytime. Serve as an integral part of the teaching faculty for undergraduate medical education, continuing medical education, residency, and fellowship programs as a clinician‑teacher. Qualifications Eligible for academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Holder of a Fellowship in Diagnostic Imaging from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an international equivalent. Eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Substantial experience in emergency and trauma imaging; a year of dedicated fellowship training in Emergency & Trauma Radiology post‑residency is essential. Academic credentials and experience commensurate with the Academic rank. Compensation Compensation is based on a fee‑for‑service model. The estimated annual income range for a full‑time equivalent is $300,000 – $500,000, with the opportunity for increased salary commensurate with experience and academic credentials.
