The ideal candidate will have 3–6 years of experience working on relevant tunnel and trenchless projects, preferably including both design and construction roles, and possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and the clients we serve. We are looking for a motivated professional with a forward‑thinking mindset, strong analytical problem‑solving skills, and a collaborative spirit.Annual Compensation:$92,000 to $110,000 based on experience, certifications, and regional market standards.Structural Project Engineer Essential FunctionsProduce technical deliverables according to client specifications.Prepare construction plans and specifications, structural/geostructural calculations and design reports, and technical memoranda with appropriate guidance.Communicate technical and non‑technical information in a concise, professional manner, including participation in technical meetings and workshops with owners, contractors, and other stakeholders.Produce engineering calculations including tunnel, geotechnical, and structural calculations (including numerical analysis) as required to support tunnel and trenchless design, including excavation (shafts & tunnels – including connection details and complex structures) and adhere to all local and national codes for concrete, steel, and timber design.Prepare technical reporting including memoranda, letters, and reports.Complete structural engineering associated with tunnel, shaft, and stations, including lining, connections, support of excavation, and retaining structures in steel, concrete, and timber.Increase LJB’s visibility in the industry by participating in regional initiatives, conferences, committees, and community associations, including any identified professional association activities.Field‑based assignments will include shift work, weekdays, night, and weekend work.
