Position Overview Scotiabank’s Global Technology Enterprise Platforms (GTEP) Operations – Infrastructure Support’s L2 Windows team is responsible for providing infrastructure support on servers running Windows operating systems for various mission‑critical business applications, globally. Reporting to a Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the success of Scotiabank’s GTEP Infrastructure Operations (INFRAOPS) by focusing on Levels 2/3 support for Windows Server Operating Systems and delivering technology solutions. As part of our global team and under the supervision of the Team Lead, you will lead systems‑level support for more than 10,000 Windows servers, providing comprehensive support for hardware, Microsoft Windows Server OS, and associated applications across multiple regions. The role requires 2 days on‑site and 3 days work‑from‑home. A quiet workspace and sufficient internet bandwidth are required at home. Core working hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; flexibility for non‑standard hours, on‑call duties during weekends and after‑hours, is required as part of the escalation process. Responsibilities You are eager to work with leading‑edge technologies to incorporate complex network solutions for the Windows server environment and collaborate with other technology teams to contribute to overall solutions. You thrive on being hands‑on during mid‑to‑complex project deployments into production, acting as an internal consultant to assigned infrastructure and providing suggestions for viable solutions to complex systems problems. You are challenged with complex problem‑solving in time‑sensitive situations to reduce system downtime and customer impact. Qualifications You possess strong communication (verbal and written) skills and can design processes, procedures, templates, and deliver presentations effectively. You have at least five years of hands‑on technical experience supporting 24/7 infrastructure operations in multi‑site, mission‑critical environments, troubleshooting production issues during outages and addressing security vulnerabilities with remediation solutions. You have at least five years of hands‑on technical experience with Windows Server OS (2008 and above) for installation, recovery, patching, upgrading, configuration, troubleshooting, and post‑upgrade verification in an enterprise environment. You have at least five years of hands‑on experience with scheduled maintenance, deployment, and release activities across multiple environments following the change management process. You can demonstrate hands‑on experience with tools and utilities such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, System Center Operations Manager, VMware SaltStack, or Dynatrace for deployments. You can demonstrate expertise using a ticketing system such as ServiceNow and understand incident, change, and problem‑management frameworks such as ITIL. You possess solid organizational and time‑management skills. MCSE or other Microsoft/tech certifications are an asset. Nice to have experience developing scripts with PowerShell, VB.NET, or VBScript.
