Location: Mississauga, ON, Canada Responsibilities Design and engineering of high voltage overhead transmission lines from conceptual design through to construction. Design activities include route selections, conductor selection, rating studies, insulation designs, structure design, structure spotting, preparation of functional specifications for design, material and construction and coordinating of civil and structural designs of transmission lines. Preparing cost and budget estimates and feasibility studies. Preparing work methodologies, execution plans and schedules. Projects management and execution of transmission projects. Support for risk assessments and resolution of constructability issues. Preparing proposals for engineering of transmission line projects. Delivering transmission line design projects in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget and procedures. Resolving overall design/project execution issues, as required. Interfacing with clients, peers and contractors. Coordinating with various disciplines. Perform field reviews during construction. Ability to take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required. Qualifications Degree in Electrical discipline. Proficiency in using various engineering tools for design. Familiarity with structural and civil design aspects. High proficiency in MS Excel and MS Project is an asset. Compensation Range: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour. Base pay will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
