Business Development Partner The primary purpose of this role is to recruit, onboard, train, develop and coach advisors during their first four years of practice. You will help these advisors establish a holistic financial services practice that includes life and health insurance and wealth products, while reporting to the District Manager and collaborating with district and regional teams to achieve business results. Responsibilities Source and recruit candidates for the Sun Life advisor role through community contacts and other referral sources. Support candidates and ensure a positive onboarding experience, including licensing studies, market identification, business planning, and joint client appointments. Train and onboard new advisors, overseeing successful implementation of their onboarding plan and providing pre‑ and post‑sales support. Coach advisors on prospecting, business development, cross‑selling opportunities, sales cycle, business management and other key skills. Help advisors meet their financial and strategic objectives such as sales growth, productivity and client engagement. Partner with head office Centre of Excellence teams to support advisors. Monitor and track advisor activities, analyze data to drive insights into business practices. Ensure compliant operations and that advisors are properly trained, licensed, registered, and conduct is aligned to the Advisor Agreement. Escalate client complaints and conduct investigations as needed. Achieve recruitment and production metrics and foster a positive district culture through events and recognition. Build community presence for Sun Life and local advisors through events, activities, and sponsorships. Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development. Qualifications Minimum 2 years’ related experience within the financial services industry. Valid Life Insurance Agent’s license in the province of the district. Valid Mutual Fund license or willingness to obtain it within 90 days. Completion of the Branch Manager’s Course Examination and registration as a mutual fund branch manager within 6 months. In good standing with applicable regulators. Proficiency with technologies such as Salesforce.com, financial planning software, and Microsoft applications. Assets Professional designations in financial services.
