Opportunity We are seeking an Actuarial Associate to join our Property & Casualty Actuarial team. This role builds on core actuarial expertise in pricing, reserving, and portfolio analytics, while taking on increased responsibility for leadership, project ownership, and management-facing decision support.The successful candidate will work closely with underwriting, finance, claims, and IT stakeholders, lead components of actuarial studies and regulatory deliverables, and play a key role in advancing analytical tools, methodologies, and business insights. This position is well suited for an actuary who has achieved ACAS and is progressing toward fellowship-level responsibilities.What you will be doingLead actuarial analyses related to pricing, reserving, forecasting, and profitability for Personal and/or Commercial Lines portfolios.Take ownership of actuarial projects from planning through delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with business objectives.Guide the development, validation, and refinement of rating models, loss models, and experience studies using internal and external dataLead or co-lead quarterly and annual reserve reviews, including assumption setting, results interpretation, and documentation.Prepare and present actuarial results, insights, and recommendations to management and senior stakeholders.Support management, regulatory, and financial reporting by reviewing actuarial exhibits and ensuring consistency with standards and expectationsAnalyze loss experience, rate adequacy, and portfolio performance to identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trendsCollaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, claims, finance, and IT to support strategic initiatives and business decisionsFacilitate meetings, guide discussions, and communicate actuarial implications to both technical and non-technical audiencesMentor and review work produced by actuarial team, providing feedback and supporting professional development.Champion continuous improvement by enhancing actuarial tools, automating processes, and strengthening analytical frameworksWhat you bring to the teamMinimum of 5–7 years of actuarial experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industryBachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related disciplineACAS designation completed, with active progress toward FCAS (or equivalent)Strong command of actuarial methods, loss modeling, credibility theory, and insurance fundamentalsAdvanced proficiency in Excel and at least one analytical or programming language such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, or VBAExperience working with large datasets, actuarial systems, and complex analytical environmentsDemonstrated ability to take ownership of deliverables and drive projects to completionStrong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving skillsAbility to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environmentConfident communicator with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to management and business partnersHow you will succeed In your first year, you will have established yourself as a trusted actuarial partner, independently leading pricing and/or reserving initiatives and delivering actionable insights to management.
