Job Overview Principal Structural Engineer – Full‑time, Agency Contractor, Oakville, Ontario. The role requires international experience in the mining, minerals & metals sector, especially on MMM projects, and a strong knowledge of structural design, regulations, and industry standards. Responsibilities Lead and supervise large and small structural projects, applying advanced engineering theories and techniques. Conduct site visits to client locations, ensuring adherence to safety, design, and quality standards. Provide discipline supervision and oversee the development of deliverables, including design calculations and documentation. Work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage project execution and client expectations. Technical & Industry Experience Lead-level experience in structural engineering for MMM projects. Extensive knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, nuclear standards, and industry practices. Proficient in estimating project costs and leading engineering/design teams. Certified design management experience in mining, minerals, and metals projects. Expertise in structural integrity reviews and design of foundations, steel, concrete, and masonry. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and analytical skills. Comfortable with frequent site visits as needed. Other Discipline-Specific Knowledge Experience with grass‑roots and brownfield projects. Specialized knowledge of nuclear regulation standards and National Building Codes. Capability to produce calculations using STAAD PRO software. Education & Qualifications Must be a member of Professional Engineers of Ontario. Salary Information Ontario applicants: $148,643 – $198,643 CAD per year, based on qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
