The Legacy Giving Specialist will communicate in a manner that reflects Siloam’s HEART values, and resonates our passion for seeing lives changed through the continuum of services provided. As a key member of the Development team, the primary objective of this position is to connect current, lapsed, and prospective supporters to the Mission, Vision and Values of Siloam Mission through donor‑centred legacy giving strategies.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Legacy Giving and Donor StewardshipDevelop and implement strategies to effectively identify, cultivate, solicit and steward legacy and planned giving prospects and donorsManage a portfolio of legacy and planned giving donors and prospects through tours, meetings, phone calls, emails, events and other correspondenceBuild trusted relationships with older adult donors, family members and professional advisors with empathy, discretion and respectUtilize and analyze data, records, metrics, relevant software and research tools to identify and advance new and current legacy giving prospectsWork collaboratively to develop compelling donor‑centred proposals, cases for support, legacy materials and gift documentation that align with organizational needsUtilize and maintain a moves management system to track individual activity in all stages of the donor life cycle to ensure relationships are nurtured and advanced appropriately on an ongoing basisEnsure donor intent and the philanthropic wishes of legacy donors are respected and that recognition and stewardship strategies align with Siloam Mission's policies, procedures and ethical fundraising standardsCollaborate with the broader Siloam Mission team to determine which programs and services are most likely to align with the priorities and philanthropic wishes of legacy donors and prospectsCollaboratively ensure impact reporting fulfills commitments to supporters in a timely manner and according to funding agreements, documented donor intent and Siloam Mission's outlined Donor Recognition JourneyEnsure donor records, contact reports, planned gift documentation and pipeline activity are current and accurateBe knowledgeable about Siloam Mission’s programs and services and be able to communicate this information effectively to existing and prospective supportersEncourage donors to seek independent legal and financial advice where appropriate and work respectfully with lawyers, executors, financial advisors and family members when gifts involve wills, estates, insurance, securities or other complex arrangementsEnsure all communications align with Siloam's overall Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic PlanProgram Administration and Cross‑Department CollaborationLead the day‑to‑day activities of Siloam Mission's legacy giving program and support annual goals, pipeline development and stewardship plans;Research and identify prospective legacy donors using internal data, relationship history and other research toolsDevelop, maintain and advance cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for top legacy giving donors and prospectsMeet with and tour prospective legacy donorsPlan and support legacy events, recognition activities, surveys, mailings and related communications in collaboration with Development colleaguesEnsure all documents, templates and process materials for Siloam's legacy giving portfolio are accurate and up to dateTrack and analyze the performance of legacy outreach, surveys and related donor activity to inform strategy, forecasting and continuous improvementMaintain up‑to‑date knowledge and practical understanding of estate giving, planned giving practices, and the applicable legal, tax and ethical considerations in Manitoba and CanadaProvide coordination to other Development team members on legacy‑related activities as requiredCollaborate with Finance, Communications, Programs, and Leadership to ensure donor commitments are documented, understood, and fulfilled appropriately.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE3 years’ progressive fundraising experience;
