Job Summary As a CADD Specialist, you’ll play a key role in shaping the infrastructure that supports our communities—bringing your technical expertise to regional road, water, and wastewater projects. This dynamic position calls for sharp attention to detail, creative problem‑solving approach, and a strong technical foundation. You'll collaborate with a diverse team of professionals across public works departments and external agencies, driving forward the planning and execution of impactful, high‑quality infrastructure initiatives.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed maps to support various Public Works teamsGather and analyze information from both internal and external sourcesPrepare municipal engineering plan/profile base plan drawings using Civil 3DConduct engineering calculations and apply field edits as necessary to maintain accuracyReview and audit drawings for precision, completeness, and adherence to established standardsCoordinate with utility providers, local municipalities, and relevant government agencies to support project requirementsParticipate in project meetings providing technical input and progress updatesContribute to the updating and maintenance of Halton CADD Standards ManualMaintain, update, and archive “As Constructed” drawings in accordance with record‑keeping protocolsProvide technical support to Project Managers and members of the management teamEngage in job rotations and shadowing opportunities within Technical Services to broaden skills and support cross‑functional collaborationSkills & QualificationsDiploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an OACETT‑accredited college or a recognized institution2-5 years of relevant design experience and drawing production in municipal engineering with a focus on water, wastewater and road designProficiency in Civil 3D, including expertise in:Plan & profilesAlignmentsPipe networksVolume calculationsCross sectionsGrading & ditchingProficient in Microsoft 365 suiteStrong analytical, mathematical, and communication skillsAbility to manage time‑sensitive tasks and balance competing deadlinesExperience in road‑related engineering considered an assetWorking/Employment ConditionsIncumbent will attend design and construction site visits and meetings as required within Halton Region.This position has prolonged periods of sitting.Important information about your applicationIn accordance with requirements in Ontario Regulation 191/11 – Integrated Accessibility Standards and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Halton Region will accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
