About the Company We are a high-performing wealth management team serving established professionals, business owners, and families with complex financial needs. Our practice centers on disciplined investment management, thoughtful retirement planning, and long-term wealth structuring, delivered with professionalism, accountability, and a personal CFO approach. This is not a mass‑market advisory environment. We operate with high standards, a long‑term orientation, and a strong emphasis on trust, consistency, and execution. About the Role This role is designed for individuals whose objective is to build their own advisory practice from the ground up. Unlike many firms, this position is not structured around inheriting an existing book of business or managing legacy family portfolios. There is no expectation that you will step into pre‑existing client relationships. Instead, the focus is on learning how to originate, develop, and retain your own clients—supported by experienced advisors who have followed the same path and understand the realities of starting from scratch. You will begin in a junior, client‑facing role and progressively develop the skills required to build an independent practice over time. This role requires patience, discipline, and long‑term commitment. Responsibilities Proactive outreach to prospective clients (primarily phone‑based) Qualifying prospects and scheduling meetings with senior advisors Participating in client meetings and planning discussions to observe, learn, and contribute Preparing financial analyses and planning materials Supporting investment implementation, retirement, tax, and estate planning workflows Gradually assuming responsibility for client relationships you help originate and develop From the outset, your efforts are aligned with building a practice you can ultimately call your own. You will be mentored by advisors who have personally built their practices from the ground up and understand the challenges, trade‑offs, and discipline required at each stage. Direct mentorship and structured coaching Exposure to real client decision‑making and advisory execution Support for licensing and professional education (CSC, CPH, etc.) Progressive transition toward independent client responsibility This is closer to a professional apprenticeship than a traditional employment role. The role includes a modest fixed stipend to assist during the initial development phase. Over time, compensation increasingly reflects: Clients you help originate and retain Relationships you co‑manage with senior advisors Your ability to assume responsibility for planning and servicing Candidates should be financially prepared to manage an early‑stage period where income is modest while skills, credibility, and client relationships are being built. Who This Role Is (and Is Not) For This role is well suited for individuals who: Want to build a long‑term advisory practice of their own Value mentorship from advisors who have been in their position Are comfortable earning responsibility before earning scale Are motivated by professional ownership rather than short‑term income This role is not suited for individuals who: Expect to inherit an existing book of clients Seek immediate, high, or guaranteed compensation Prefer predefined roles over entrepreneurial responsibility Are uncomfortable with outreach‑driven business development Qualifications Strong communication and relationship‑building skills Discipline, resilience, and long‑term focus Genuine interest in wealth management and financial planning Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Bachelor’s degree or relevant business or sales experience preferred Next Steps We are selective by design. Candidates aligned with the long‑term objective of building their own practice will be invited to an introductory discussion with a senior advisor to review expectations, development milestones, and mutual fit. This role exists to develop independent advisors who build, own, and sustain their practices over time. Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Manulife Wealth by 2x.
