Responsibilities Lead the administration of the Manitoba Emergency Services College (MESC) full‑time Public Fire Paramedic diploma and other ancillary medical training programmes. Provide leadership to instructors and technical experts throughout the development, implementation, and evaluation of all programmes within the portfolio. Supervise full‑time and casual staff, ensuring strict alignment with MESC quality improvement protocols, accreditation standards, curriculum requirements, and regulatory criteria. Oversee overall success of the portfolio. Qualifications Post‑secondary education in Adult Education or Educational Administration and Leadership, or equivalent. Successful completion of training and experience providing medical services and/or emergency response services (e.g., Primary Care Paramedic, Paramedic, Technician Paramedic) or equivalent designation. Experience applying academic policies to the development, delivery, and evaluation of adult training. Demonstrated experience building, leading, and motivating teams in a managerial capacity. Experience managing confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy, tact, sound judgement and political acumen. Experience developing policies, operating guidelines and/or procedures. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as an effective part of a team. Strong written communication skills for drafting correspondence, reports, policies, and procedures. Strong verbal communication skills to effectively deliver presentations, conduct training sessions, and facilitate meetings. Superior organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple staff members and balance competing priorities under tight deadlines. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and on‑call as necessary. Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license, be eligible to obtain a Manitoba Class 4 driver’s license with air‑brake endorsement at the time of application, and be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory driver’s abstract. Must be physically capable of wearing personal protective equipment, as required. Must be able to travel throughout Manitoba, and occasionally throughout Canada and internationally.
