Responsibilities Develop and execute a global field & channel marketing strategy aligned to Blue Planet regional sales priorities and revenue targets Partner with sales leadership to identify opportunities, build account-based marketing (ABM) programs, and accelerate pipeline progression Plan and deliver integrated campaigns, events, and executive engagements (in-person and virtual) to drive demand and customer expansion Translate corporate messaging into regionally relevant programs tailored to target accounts and buyer personas Generate and track marketing leads – from creation to closure – while providing dashboards and regular visibility to sales Create customer case studies (presentations and PDFs), write technology award nomination submissions, and create content for customer press releases Lead the execution of regional industry events, customer advisory boards, and partner initiatives to elevate Blue Planet’s market presence Work with global system integrator and hyperscaler partners to develop and execute joint marketing programs Manage partner portal – keep content up-to-date, track partner certifications & badges, and produce quarterly report on usage Manage field marketing budgets, track ROI, and optimize performance across programs Collaborate with digital, programs, and product marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and campaign alignment Analyze campaign performance and pipeline impact, providing insights and recommendations to leadership Manage a small team of field and channel marketers Qualifications 10+ years of experience in B2B field marketing, demand generation, or outbound marketing within telecommunications, networking, or artificial intelligence software environments 3+ years of experience leading and developing marketing teams Demonstrated success driving pipeline growth and revenue impact through field and channel marketing programs Strong experience aligning with sales organizations and executing account-based marketing strategies Data‑driven mindset with hands‑on experience using customer relationship management and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce and Marketo Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑level presentations Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a technical field Preferred Qualifications Experience marketing to communications service providers (CSPs) Familiarity with operations support systems (OSS), network automation, orchestration, service assurance, and artificial intelligence‑driven operations Background in global, matrixed B2B technology organizations Master of Business Administration (MBA) Pay Range The annual pay range for this position in Canada is $143,700 - $229,500 The annual pay range for this position in the USA is $157,900 - $252,200 Benefits In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans; participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching; Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP); Employee Assistance Program (EAP); company‑paid holidays; paid sick leave; and vacation time.
