Commodities Trader We are looking for a Commodities Trader to monitor metal commodity markets and maximize returns through strategic trading decisions. The role involves collaboration with management, customer and supplier interaction, and support of buy/sell decisions. Help create a competitive advantage for trading and supply chain activities. Meet with customers to gather and analyze needs and opportunities. Research and present new market and growth opportunities to senior management. Identify commodities and materials in inventory or potential inventory. Coordinate and test product to determine its value. Negotiate and finalize sales with domestic and international customers. Improve current sales methods, tools, and software to increase profitability. Manage freight and shipping with operations and logistics teams. Record and report sales, material volumes, contract statuses and inventory forecasts. Create and execute monthly sales plans and ensure ongoing communication with customers. Provide analysis and deliver timely sales reporting. Manage after-sales service. Handle all queries and problems efficiently and professionally. Qualifications 2-3 years as a junior trader or similar experience is an asset. Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Commerce, or Finance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Self-motivated, inquisitive, and driven to learn new skills. Excellent negotiation skills focused on results. Willingness to travel internationally to mills and buyers. Experience in a fast-paced sales environment is an asset. Knowledge of foreign exchange and/or commodity markets (nickel, copper, aluminum) is an asset. Flexibility in schedule to cover global market hours.
