About the Role The Business Development Director (BDD) is responsible for driving national & global market expansion and vertical growth within identified key sectors. This role focuses on securing net new client partnerships in key source markets, while supporting a unified sales strategy that ensures consistent CRM tracking, pipeline visibility, and performance reporting. The BDD will play a critical role in revenue diversification through the expansion of Wynford services and contribute to maintaining strong client retention and portfolio continuity. Compensation for this role is a base salary + commission model. Base salary range is $100,000 - $110,000 annually. What You Bring 6+ years experience in sales within the MICE and Incentive Travel Market Post‑secondary education in business, sales, marketing, or a related field. Proven success in market expansion and new client acquisition Expertise in strategic sales, pricing, and contract negotiations Strong CRM, pipeline management, and reporting skills Ability to develop creative, cost‑effective client solutions Knowledge of meetings, events, and engagement strategies Exceptional communication and problem‑solving abilities Business, financial, and political acumen. Willingness to travel as needed. What You’ll Do Market Expansion & Sector Growth Identify and penetrate key source markets and drive vertical growth within identified priority sectors. Client Acquisition & Strategic Sales Secure net new client partnerships in target markets and sectors. Conduct thorough assessments and apply strategic sales approaches for new accounts. Respond to competitor activity and identify opportunities for meetings, events, and engagement solutions. Revenue Diversification & Profitability Expand Wynford’s service offerings to diversify revenue streams. Support strategic relationships and meet profitability targets. Consult on pricing to ensure profit guidelines are met and all negotiations comply with company policies. Sales Strategy & Compliance Coordinate contract negotiations and oversee proposal development. Ensure all client‑facing collateral is timely, accurate, and aligned with branding standards. Maintain consistent CRM tracking, pipeline visibility, and performance reporting. Collaboration & Internal Alignment Maintain consistent information flow with Wynford personnel. Work with internal teams to develop client responses and ensure collateral is current and consistent. Oversee new business implementation with operations, creative, and implementation teams. Ensure documentation for handover to account owners is complete. Develop creative, cost‑effective plans to meet client objectives. Understand various meeting types and destinations to support customer programs. Assess opportunities and identify competitive threats to inform strategy.
