Position Overview Responsible for safeguarding company employees, assets, property and customer’s freight while in the possession of FedEx Freight Canada (FFC). Reduce losses attributed to theft by proactive preventive measures. Investigate security incidents, fraudulent shipments, and conduct audits to ensure compliance with security requirements. Provide training and awareness on workplace violence prevention and threat awareness. Build and maintain relationships with cross‑functional departments to ensure a thorough understanding of security policies and procedures. Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities Investigate all security incidents; suspected pilferage and theft of customer property or company assets, threats to employees, reports of violation, infringement, or non‑compliance with respect to corporate policies; and support FFC’s conformity to Canadian and international regulatory requirements. Complete and maintain comprehensive investigations, case files and incident reports which may be used internally or as evidence in civil or criminal court. Apply preventative security measures to reduce loss, protect employees, customers and the company through education and the implementation of security guidelines and procedures. Conduct security inspections and audits of FFC facilities for compliance and implement corrective measures to meet corporate security requirements and standards. Develop and implement standard operating procedures in accordance with the FFC Security Plan Policy and identify opportunities for improvement through evaluation and analysis of existing processes. Identify, assess and mitigate compliance risks in support of regulatory and cross‑border regulations. Implement effective security measures to protect the movement of domestic and international freight. Participate in regular Security and Operations meetings and provide guidance and subject matter expertise to resolve complex security related issues. Promote a positive “Security Culture” throughout the FedEx Freight Canada network. Travel within immediate work area and region of responsibility on a regular basis. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Post‑secondary degree required. Five (5) years of related experience in law enforcement, corporate security or border management capacity. Ability to independently lead investigations, prioritize and manage multiple case files. Proficient understanding of Physical Security and Security Systems (alarms, CCTV, access controls). Experience working in the commercial trucking industry or LTL environment. Understanding of border regulations and the application of international supply chain security programs, including certification requirements (CTPAT, PIP, AEO). Knowledge and experience of international and cross‑border regulations pertaining to the movement of commercial goods in air or land environments. Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities, including attention to detail to fact‑find missing or incomplete information during investigations or security related incidents. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as strong ability to motivate, persuade, collaborate and partner with all levels within the organization. Must have valid G license and access to a vehicle. Bi‑Lingual (English/French), preferred; Province of Quebec required. Working Conditions Must be able to travel between Canada and the US. Hours may vary due to operational need. Ability to lift/carry/push and pull varying weights (e.g., open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force). Dock/yard environment exposure: varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, noise. Valid G licensee and access to a vehicle.
