Our client, A well-established and growing private lending firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant to support a high-performing Business Development Manager. This position plays a critical role in managing mortgage files, supporting underwriting processes, and ensuring a seamless experience for broker partners. Key Responsibilities Review and prepare mortgage applications for submission to the internal credit team Analyze key deal components including borrower profile, property details, loan-to-value, and exit strategy Summarize deals clearly for credit review, identifying strengths and potential risks Manage a pipeline of active files, ensuring all documentation and conditions are tracked and completed in a timely manner Act as the primary liaison between brokers, internal credit, and funding teams Proactively follow up on outstanding items to ensure deals progress efficiently Provide brokers with consistent updates on file status, requirements, and timelines Prepare approved files for transition to legal and funding Maintain accurate and organized records within internal systems and CRM platforms Support business development efforts through broker communication and coordination Must-Have Requirements 2+ years of experience in mortgage administration, underwriting support, or lending operations Strong understanding of mortgage fundamentals (credit, LTV, income, security, documentation) Proven ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-up skills Excellent communication skills and ability to work with external partners Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems Ideal Experience Background in private lending, alternative lending, or MIC environments Exposure to underwriting or credit analysis Experience working directly with mortgage brokers Familiarity with the BC real estate and lending landscape Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field Why Join High-growth lending environment with strong deal flow Direct exposure to underwriting and credit decision-making Collaborative, entrepreneurial team culture Opportunity to build long-term career progression within real estate finance
