About The Role Senior Manager, Financial Risk Strategy & Analytics to lead key strategy and analytics initiatives within our financial risk management function. Bridge the gap between deep technical analysis and strategic leadership, own complex models and forecasts, and mentor a team of analysts. Work closely with Finance, Product, and Data teams to turn complex data into actionable insights, ensuring growth resilience and compliance while safeguarding KOHO’s portfolio.What You’ll Do Team Leadership & MentorshipManage and mentor a team of individual contributors across Financial Risk domains.Foster a culture of rigorous analysis, ownership, and continuous improvement.Financial Risk Analytics & ForecastingForecasting & Provisioning: Lead development, execution, and enhancement of short- and long-term delinquency and loss forecasting models. Oversee ECL calculations and monthly provisioning in strict accordance with IFRS 9.Stress Testing: Execute and review stress tests, ensuring adequate liquidity and capital buffers, design, execute and refine scenarios for adverse macroeconomic conditions.Market & Liquidity Risk: Oversee monitoring and reporting frameworks for non‑credit financial risks, including interest‑rate, market and liquidity risk. Perform a second‑line‑of‑defense role in data, models and assumptions.Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor portfolio health, identify emerging trends and risks through analysis of performance data and external indicators. Identify opportunities for automated anomaly detection.Impact Assessment: Partner with Product and Marketing to assess credit‑risk impact of new initiatives, quantifying potential effects on delinquency, losses and provisions before launch.Model Risk Management: Perform second‑line oversight of models used in decisions impacting financial risk.Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Insight GenerationReporting & Insights: Produce and present high‑quality reporting for senior leadership, translating complex analytic results into clear strategic recommendations.Data Strategy: Collaborate with Data Analytics and Data Science to enhance pipelines, identify new data sources and ensure integrity and availability of risk data. Act as steward for critical risk data.Strategic Partnership: Work with Finance on capital planning and economic forecasting, and with Product to optimize credit strategies based on risk‑adjusted returns.Who You Are Experience & Education6–8 years in financial risk management with deep experience in retail credit risk analytics, loss forecasting and treasury risk.Leadership: Proven experience leading analytical workstreams and managing or mentoring individual contributors.Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering) or equivalent experience.Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL, Python or SAS for data manipulation and modeling. Deep understanding of IFRS 9, ECL methodologies and stress‑testing frameworks.Analytical Rigor: Ability to build complex models, perform root‑cause analysis and ensure high quality standards across the team’s outputs.Risk Knowledge: Familiarity with market and liquidity risk, ALM and stress‑testing frameworks.Communication: Ability to tell a story with data, explaining technical risk concepts and business implications to non‑technical stakeholders and senior leadership.Builder Mindset: Comfortable working in fast‑paced environments, building tools, processes and frameworks from scratch.Benefits Salary range: $150,000 – $190,000 CAD per year.
