Primary Purpose The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and general oversight of the custodial department. Collaborates closely with personnel to maintain a safe and clean campus environment as well as serve as a member of the leadership team for Facilities. Essential Functions Supervise custodial operations to ensure employees have appropriate resources to perform their jobs and meet expectations. Assign work to staff via the FAMIS work order program. Supervise and maintain rental equipment and supply inventory. Assign and supervise work assignments. Manage community expectations and provide support with customer service interactions. Monitor custodial performance, providing guidance and recommendations to leadership. Ensure a safe and clean working environment. Oversee and support department personnel functions of hiring, training, performance management, promotion, including disciplinary actions. Assist with internal rental program operations. Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of post‑high school education. Five (5) years of experience managing a custodial department. Preferred Qualifications Proficient computer skills, knowledge of FAMIS, CMMS, CCAP, Outlook, Word, Excel, and others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with and lead a diverse population of skilled workers. Demonstrated success in staff supervision and leadership. Demonstrated knowledge of safe work methods, environmental health practices and procedures. Demonstrated understanding of equipment services, maintenance, and repair. Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work. Work Schedule Work performed during standard business hours.
