The role includes exploring the use of AI and advanced analytics to enhance engineering efficiency and insights. This role reports to the Director of Engineering Excellence and works closely with the Engineering Operations and Engineering Excellence departments. Key Accountabilities Collaborate with colleagues across all engineering disciplines to define requirements and use cases for BI, including performing preliminary analyses of company datasets. Contribute creative ideas and prototypes that leverage data, analytics, and/or AI to address complex or ambiguous problems. Support the Engineering Continuous Improvement Lead in defining "Problem Statements", performing root‑cause analysis, and the return‑on‑investment (ROI) for potential solutions. Use the data and analytics at their disposal to produce actionable insights. Analyze company datasets for usability and propose means to improve data integrity. Present findings and recommendations to peers and senior stakeholders. When required, develop prototypes of Power BI reports based on defined requirements. Key Requirements The successful candidate should be working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university or college in an Engineering‑related or Data‑related field. Experienced in preparing and giving presentations. Experienced in exploring and evaluating data. Knowledgeable about principles of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. Demonstrates curiosity, willingness to learn, and is poised to find an effective solution. Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work 40 hours a week in a hybrid environment for the duration of the internship, with at least 2 days per week in the office. Preferred Qualifications Experience in data processing scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, and/or SQL. Knowledgeable about systems engineering principles.
