Martket Textile is looking for a hands-on Senior Technical Developer to lead the creation of advanced apparel and textile products, working closely with our in-house production team and with external brand, manufacturing, and development partners. This is an opportunity to shape how our garments are designed, built, and refined—combining pattern engineering, material innovation, and advanced bonding technologies such as Framis Italia seam sealing and ultrasonic systems. This role continues Martket’s commitment to excellence in technical product development and hands-on craftsmanship. At Martket, we design and produce high-performance fashion and consumer textile products that combine form, function, and technical precision. Our development environment blends traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge manufacturing—where pattern drafting meets advanced production technologies, and where every prototype is built to perform as beautifully as it looks. As Senior Technical Developer, you’ll be deeply involved in the making. This is a hands-on role working directly with patterns, machines, and samples to translate design intent into production-ready garments. You’ll draft, fit, construct, and refine every detail to ensure each product meets Martket’s standards for innovation, quality, and comfort. You’ll thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment where precision, efficiency, and collaboration are key. Key Responsibilities You’ll take ownership of the technical development process from concept through production. Draft, develop, and grade garment patterns using both flat pattern and draping methods. Operate and troubleshoot specialty machinery, including equipment for bonding, lamination, and seam sealing. Construct and test prototypes, ensuring patterns and materials perform as intended before production. Translate design intent into technical packages that accurately communicate construction methods and specs. Ensure all technical specifications and pattern updates are accurately captured for manufacturing. Manage fit sessions and make pattern and construction adjustments based on feedback. Collaborate with designers, product developers, and vendors to resolve technical challenges and refine manufacturing methods. Maintain pattern libraries, documentation, and process standards. Explore new bonding, finishing, and pattern technologies to advance Martket’s technical capabilities. Key Focus Areas Pattern Drafting & Garment Construction: Create and refine the technical “blueprint” of garments, hands-on. Machinery Operation: Set up and run bonding, sealing, lamination, and ultrasonic welding equipment; experience with Framis Italia technology and machines an asset. Fit Development: Work directly with prototypes and fittings to ensure correct shape, mobility, and appearance. Material Understanding: Apply deep knowledge of textiles, trims, seam tapes, and bonding adhesives in construction. Problem Solving: Diagnose and fix technical issues on the spot—patterns, fit, or equipment setup. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of technical apparel development experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Proven ability and experience in pattern drafting, garment construction, and prototype development. Bilingual in English and Cantonese is a strong asset, especially for production communication. Skilled in CAD pattern software such as Optitex (primary), Gerber, or Lectra, used for digital pattern drafting, grading, and prototyping. Proven experience operating or developing processes with Framis Italia or similar bonding/sealing machines. Strong understanding of garment construction, grading, and finishing. Strong understanding of fit principles and garment testing standards. A practical, workshop-based mindset—you’re most comfortable on the floor, working directly with patterns and machines. Clear communicator who thrives in cross-functional collaboration. Martket Benefits A creative, technical workspace where making and testing are part of every day. An inclusive and safe work environment. Access to advanced machinery and textile technologies. Opportunity to own the technical process from first pattern to finished product.
