The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Development Review Technologist position within the Engineering & Technical Service Division. Duties The Development Review Technologist reviews land use, development, and crown land proposals near provincial highways to ensure safety, efficiency, access management, and future expansion are protected. The role evaluates compliance with legislation and departmental policies, consults with internal and external stakeholders, recommends mitigation measures and approval conditions, prepares formal departmental responses, monitors approvals, and represents the department in appeal processes while providing general land use and transportation planning advice. Qualifications Essential Completion of post-secondary education or a diploma from a recognized college, technical institute, or university in applied science, land use planning, urban planning, or a related field. An equivalent combination of related education, training, and relevant experience may be considered. Experience working with and/or thorough knowledge of highway planning. Experience working with community planning principles, methods, and procedures. Experience working with access management principles. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create various documents for a variety of audiences. Effective verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently prioritize workload to meet tight and conflicting deadlines. Effective interpersonal skills. Desired Ability to interpret provincial Acts, Policies, and Regulations. Ability to prepare and deliver presentations before quasi-judicial bodies including The Municipal Board.
