Organizational Description Youville operates across three distinct sites, each with its own programs and characteristics. All locations focus on supporting individuals and families in their holistic health journeys within a compassionate and caring environment. Each site has also been gifted a Traditional Spirit name. Youville Diabetes Centre (YDC) (Morning Maple) The Youville Diabetes Centre provides diabetes education and support to individuals across Winnipeg. YDC offers accessible self-management education, supports, and services for those living with Type 1, Type 2, and pre-diabetes, as well as individuals who are pregnant and managing diabetes. Youville Community Health Centre (CHC) (Thunderbird Medicine from the Sky World) The Youville Community Health Centre offers a continuum of holistic health and social services in St. Vital. CHC strives to be a welcoming place where everyone can access the services and supports they need or want-delivered in ways that respect their preferences and experiences. Huddle South Central (Huddle) (Purple & White Thunderbear that walks through the Sweetgrass) Huddle South Central provides unique, collaborative services through partnerships with organizations including Centre de santé St. Boniface, Aulneau Renewal Centre, Sara Riel, Marymound, Women's Health Clinic, and Teen Stop Jeunesse. Huddle is a safe space for youth ages 12‑29, offering free, trauma‑informed, and culturally safe health services in a youth‑friendly environment. We acknowledge the organization's history and its connection to the Grey Nuns, including the harms experienced by Indigenous Peoples through the actions and inactions of the Grey Nuns. We are committed to not repeating past harms, grounding our work in intersectionality, anti‑racist, anti‑oppressive, and decolonizing approaches. Description of Duties Youville is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and representative Board that reflects the communities we serve. The Board of Directors provides strategic oversight of the organization, including responsibilities delegated to the Board Chair and Executive Director, and ensures the organization's financial sustainability while upholding Youville's Mission, Vision, and Values. Board Structure Board of Directors is supported by two standing committees: Finance and Human Resources/Governance. This position is for a Board Director who sits on the Finance Committee. Skills Required Board experience is NOT required Strong financial literacy, including the ability to read and understand financial statements, budgets, and audits Experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, or financial oversight (e.g., CPA). Above all, we are looking for individuals who share Youville's commitment to creating safe, welcoming spaces that address health inequities and support healing. Time Commitment Estimated time commitment: 4-8 hours per month The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every other month, from September to June Committees meet on the third Tuesday of alternating months We offer 2 or 3-year terms.
