You’ll spend most of your time writing performant code and solving concrete engineering problems: optimizing APIs, designing reliable service integrations, debugging production systems, and implementing observability. You’ll collaborate with teammates to make informed technical tradeoffs and have the depth to validate your decisions.ResponsibilitiesImplement services that reliably integrate multiple build sources with developer workflowsDesign and build intelligent systems that handle diverse CI configurations at scale and analyze build failuresCreate features that annotate code changes with meaningful build and test resultsOptimize performance through profiling, caching and algorithmic improvementsWrite thorough tests and implement observability (metrics, logging, tracing)Provide on-call support and maintain system reliabilityCollaborate with other teams to solve lasting infrastructure problemsMinimum QualificationsBS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience3+ years of software engineering experience (backend services, APIs, or platform infrastructure)Proficiency in backend languages: Go, Python, Java, Scala, or KotlinProven ability to design systems that handle scale, reliability, and service integrationPreferred QualificationsDeep expertise in API design, microservices architecture or distributed systemsExperience with CI/CD pipelines, build systems or developer platform infrastructureKnowledge of macOS/iOS build processes or development environmentsExperience with event-driven architectures or asynchronous messaging systemsPay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $116,800 and $226,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple Inc.’s discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit award recommendations, and can purchase Apple Inc. stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple Inc.’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
