Support Staff Location: Division Education Centre Open To: All Date Posted: December 15th, 2025 Closing Date: Open Ended Together we walk in partnership with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and local Indigenous communities to co-create meaningful learning opportunities that reflect Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing. A deep respect for the land and the people who have called it home since time immemorial is essential. We are looking for someone with lived experience as a First Nations, Inuit, or Métis person who brings a background in education, a willingness to learn as well as lead, and a heart for building strong, respectful relationships. Requirements Support Indigenous students and families in navigating WRSD processes and providing input to WRSD regarding the creation of more powerful learning environments for Indigenous students Support Indigenous students in communicating their needs and hopes for their education within WRSD schools Support and guide school leaders in identifying school wide practices, protocols, activities, events, and facilities/grounds enhancements to honour the First Peoples of the territory. Support teacher professional learning through one-on-one and group learning opportunities. Support teachers with the infusion of First Nations, Metis and Inuit knowledge and learning in all subject areas at all grade levels. Collaborate with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and WRSD staff for the development of school-based plans, programs, activities, and events that meet the needs of Indigenous students and families while providing enhanced learning opportunities for all WRSD students. Support school leaders and teachers in establishing relationships by enhancing understanding of cultural protocols and practices of local Indigenous peoples. Support Wellness workers in identifying needs and strategies to support Indigenous students Identify, develop and vet resources to support teachers in meeting WRSD goals and curricular outcomes for all students. Qualifications First Nations, Inuit or Metis lived experience Education Degree or equivalent education by Elders and Knowledge Keepers in local Indigenous communities A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment with no convictions of issue, as decided by WRSD. The successful candidates will report to and support the WRSD Director of Indigenous Education. One position is available with FTE and employment conditions to be determined upon the selection of the successful candidate(s); The successful candidate will work with schools throughout the Division.
