Demant Canada is seeking a Controller to lead all accounting and financial reporting activities for its Canadian operations. Reporting to the Head of Finance (Canada) and working closely with regional and global finance teams, the Controller will ensure strong financial governance, timely reporting, and compliance with IFRS, Canadian regulatory requirements, and Demant group policies.This role is hands‑on and suits a technically strong finance leader who is comfortable operating in a multinational environment while partnering closely with local business leaders. The position is a hybrid role based out of North York.ResponsibilitiesLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for Canadian entitiesPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Demant Group policiesDeliver accurate, timely reporting packages to regional and global finance teamsAnalyze variances and provide insightful commentary to managementAccounting & ControlsOversee general ledger, revenue recognition, inventory accounting, fixed assets, leases (IFRS16), deferred revenue (IFRS15), and intercompany transactionsMaintain and enhance internal controls in line with group standards and audit requirementsEnsure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and documentation standardsAct as primary point of contact for external auditors and coordinate annual auditsTax & Statutory ComplianceManage Canadian compliance requirements including HST/GST, PST/QST, and statutory filingsCalculate corporate income tax provision and deferred tax asset/liability at year endCoordinate corporate income tax filings with external advisors and Demant Group TaxSupport transfer pricing documentation and intercompany reconciliationsSystems & Process ImprovementAct as finance lead for ERP and systems‑related initiatives impacting accounting and reportingDrive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalabilityEnsure strong data integrity across financial systemsLeadership & Business PartnershipLead, mentor, and develop the Canadian accounting teamPartner with operations, supply chain, HR, and commercial teams on financial mattersSupport budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes as requiredPerform other ad hoc tasks as required by ManagerQualifications8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a Controller or senior accounting roleExperience within a multinational, shared services, or matrix organization strongly preferredStrong working knowledge of IFRS and Canadian statutory requirementsExperience with ERP systems (MS Navision experience an asset)Proven ability to manage audits, controls, and regulatory complianceStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsSelf‑driven and strong problem‑analyzing and solving skillsBenefitsCompetitive salary with annual reviewsExcellent medical benefits; including dental, vision and health, Employee Assistance ProgramFitness/Exercise spending accountGroup RRSP contributionsDynamic work atmosphereCareer development programs and opportunities#J-18808-Ljbffr
