Manager, Risk Advisory Services – Montreal BDO Canada LLP is seeking a Manager to join its Risk Advisory team in Montreal. The role focuses on leading engagements that provide risk advisory services, including internal audits, independent assessments, and enterprise risk management. Responsibilities Lead engagement teams to plan and deliver risk advisory services, including internal audits and independent assessments. Oversee the review, documentation, and assessment of compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency of business processes, internal controls, and programs. Build positive working relationships with clients and identify improvements for future engagements. Support and assist the team in pursuing business development opportunities. Maintain a proactive and logical approach to information gathering and analysis, presenting complex ideas through clear written and oral communication. Review key deliverables, provide feedback to staff, and ensure deliverables meet the highest quality standards and relevant professional guidelines. Develop and refresh methodologies related to existing and new solutions and services. Manage project timelines, scopes, and budgets to deliver on schedule and within budget. Ensure high‑quality client service by monitoring daily progress of fieldwork. Mentor and provide support and guidance to colleagues, demonstrating managerial skills with high‑performing teams. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. In pursuit of, or completed, professional designation (CPA, CIA). At least 5 years of professional experience in internal audit, risk advisory services, or related field. Ability to diagnose project issues, build solutions, and draft impactful communications for clients. Strong problem‑solving, leadership, writing, and communication skills. Capacity to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent time‑management skills. Thrives in a collaborative organization and environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and presentation experience for internal and external audiences. Focused on goals, results, and client satisfaction. Qualified to obtain Government of Canada security clearance. Fluency in English and French is required; the role involves frequent communication with English‑speaking clients in Quebec and beyond.
