Reporting to senior legal leadership, this role provides broad legal support across the organization’s operations and contributes to regulatory compliance initiatives. The position offers exposure to cross‑functional teams including sales, actuarial, operations, investments, risk, and finance.ResponsibilitiesDraft and negotiate insurance policies and related documentation with policyholdersDevelop templates to support the creation and distribution of insurance productsProvide legal support to the operations team on policy‑related mattersAssist with drafting communications, both template‑based and transaction‑specificSupport regulatory compliance efforts, including adherence to insurance regulations, market conduct guidelines, pension, privacy, AML/ATF, and tax requirementsDeliver training and prepare materials on regulatory and compliance topicsParticipate in or lead internal working groups and special projectsProvide general legal advice across a variety of business functionsRequirementsQualified to practice law in Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario4-6 years of post‑call legal experienceExperience in insurance law is requiredExperience working with or within a regulated financial institution is an assetStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environmentTeam‑oriented, resourceful, and self‑motivatedExposure to risk management, operational compliance, or internal audit is considered an asset#J-18808-Ljbffr
