Position Overview Clipwire Games is growing and looking for an Art Director to help shape the visual direction of our current and upcoming mobile game projects. This role is ideal for an experienced and hands‑on art leader who’s passionate about mobile games and free‑to‑play experiences. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to define and execute a strong, cohesive visual vision - ensuring our games are visually compelling, performant, and aligned with both creative and business goals. You bring strong artistic taste, clear communication, and the ability to guide and inspire a team while remaining closely involved in execution. What You’ll Do Define and maintain the overall visual direction and artistic vision for assigned game projects Collaborate closely with Product and Design to align visual direction with gameplay, player experience, and business goals Lead, mentor, and provide feedback to artists across disciplines (UI, UX, 2D, motion, etc.) Ensure visual consistency and quality across all in‑game content, features, events, and live‑ops updates Create or oversee high‑quality concept art, mockups, UI flows, and visual prototypes Guide the development of UI/UX that is clear, intuitive, and optimized for mobile devices Work with Engineering to ensure art is performant, scalable, and efficiently implemented Review and approve assets before integration, ensuring they meet quality and technical standards Support live‑ops content creation while maintaining visual freshness and brand consistency Help improve art pipelines, workflows, and documentation Requirements Strong experience in game art direction, preferably in mobile or free‑to‑play games Excellent visual taste with a solid understanding of composition, color, typography, and UI/UX principles Experience leading or mentoring artists and providing clear, constructive feedback Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines Hands‑on experience creating or reviewing UI, 2D art, and visual systems Understanding of mobile constraints, performance considerations, and asset optimization Proficiency with industry‑standard tools (e.g. Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Unity) Experience working on live games or live‑ops content is a strong asset Working at Tripledot Time Off: 15 days holiday in addition to bank holidays, plus an extra 5 days every 5 years of service Hybrid Work: In‑office 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), with Wednesday optional. The expected base pay range for this Canada based position is $115,000 to $135,000. Base compensation at Clipwire Games is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. It will also be determined based on the position offered and any other forms of compensation that may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits.
