Job Overview ZenaTech is seeking a driven, technically grounded Automation Team Lead to help establish and lead our newly formed Automation team in Toronto. In this role, you will work closely with the CEO to translate operational priorities into actionable automation roadmaps, while coordinating the day-to-day efforts of engineers and analysts. Key Responsibilities Act as the day-to-day coordinator for a team of automation engineers and analysts Partner with the CEO to identify, prioritize, and scope automation initiatives aligned with business goals Own and maintain the team backlog, ensuring clear prioritization and timely execution Communicate project progress, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership Conduct process analysis and contribute to workflow and systems documentation Ensure best practices in quality assurance, testing, and deployment across all automation deliverables Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, and operations teams to identify opportunities and drive adoption Support hiring and onboarding of additional automation team members as the function grows Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related field 1–3 years of experience in software development, IT, process improvement, or project coordination Hands‑on exposure to automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Zapier, n8n, Python scripting, or similar) Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced startup environment Nice to Have Experience in a defense technology, SaaS, or enterprise software environment Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Notion Exposure to BPMN, process mapping, or workflow design methodologies "We are an equal opportunity employer committed to employment equity utilizing hiring practices on merit and business needs.
