Job Summary Primarily responsible for profitably growing sales in an assigned customer base and achieving assigned sales growth targets. Prospect new accounts, increase cross‑sell opportunities within existing customers, and relentlessly drive customer success by delivering a seamless experience through White Cap tools and resources. The role requires the operation of a company or personal vehicle more than 20% of the work week and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record report. Key Responsibilities Conduct face‑to‑face interactions with potential and existing customers in the field. Increase customer value through cross‑selling. Collaborate with sales organization and shared service personnel to execute growth initiatives. Forecast, prospect, and bid on new business opportunities. Develop and sustain relationships with key decision‑makers at all organizational levels. Partner with customers, vendors, credit, and A/R to promptly resolve service issues. Maintain current product knowledge and apply it to customer service. Submit all required sales administration reports and regularly attend company meetings. Nature and Scope Apply data analysis techniques to resolve incomplete or inconsistent research data. Work independently with occasional guidance on complex issues; supervision mainly involves periodic reviews. Provide general guidance or train junior support or professional personnel. Work Environment Work in a comfortable indoor area; minor unpleasant conditions may arise. Mostly seated but with frequent opportunity to move; occasional lifting of light items. Occasional overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Education and Experience Typical requirement: BS/BA in a related discipline with 2‑5 years of related experience, or MS/MA with 2‑4 years of related experience. Certification may be required in certain areas. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Miller Heiman’s Strategic Selling and Large Account Management Process concepts.
