At Air Products, we are seeking a Health and Safety Specialist located in Edmonton, Alberta . This newly created role will support Air Products hydrogen assets under the America’s HyCO Organization. The Health & Safety Specialist provides direct field support on activities specific to worker health and safety, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and all applicable federal, provincial and territorial regulations. What You Will Do Support plant leaders on high‑risk, confined space, hot work, and complex safety activities. Develop and support site improvement plans stemming from corporate assurance and audits. Provide plant start‑up support including training and standard implementation. Participate in safety program coaching, incident investigation, and facility maintenance projects. Ensure compliance with federal, provincial and territorial regulations. Assist in injury management and emergency response procedures. Lead interpretation of global health and safety standards. Conduct routine review of incident tracking systems and trend analysis. Provide support during regulatory inspections and post‑incident activities. Drive consistency in the implementation of global standards. Address worker health and safety challenges through direct support. Monitor best practices during emergency response drills. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety‑related role at a petrochemical manufacturing facility. Bachelor's or higher degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience. Experience in hydrogen and/or industrial gas production is beneficial. Strong knowledge of Canadian regulatory policies, including the Canada Labour Code, WHMIS, and Alberta OHS Act. Proven experience applying corporate safety policies and procedures. Experience in site auditing, assessment, and coaching. Emergency response knowledge and coordination experience. Microsoft Office proficiency. Training and experience in incident investigation techniques. Experience with an electronic EHS management system. Ability to travel outside Alberta (approx. 5% of time).
