Overview The Director of Finance is responsible for leading the finance and accounting function for a large‑scale manufacturing operation in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This role will oversee financial reporting, costing, operational analysis, budgeting, and internal controls, while acting as a key business partner to operational leadership. Responsibilities Lead all plant finance and accounting activities, including month‑end close, reporting, and financial analysis Oversee and participate in cost accounting, inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis Prepare and review monthly financial and management reporting packages Analyze production costs, raw material usage, labour, and operational efficiencies Partner with operations leadership to identify cost‑saving opportunities and support strategic decision‑making Develop budgets, forecasts, and business plans for the facility Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and adherence to corporate policies and procedures Review capital projects and support ROI and business case analysis Lead, mentor, and support the local finance team Provide detailed reporting and commentary to senior leadership on operational and financial performance Requirements 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within a manufacturing or plant environment Strong costing, inventory, and operational finance experience Experience within a larger enterprise or multi‑site corporate environment preferred Proven ability to partner with operational leaders and senior executives Strong knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills Experience with reporting and dashboard tools Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment Full‑time in‑office opportunity in the Winnipeg area Willing to relocate to Winnipeg if not from the area.
