Job Overview Air Products is seeking an Eastern Canada Area Sales Manager to support the goal of becoming the safest, most diverse, and most profitable industrial gas company in the world. The Sales Manager will report to the Commercial Director and be responsible for driving superior sales performance for a significant area within the existing North Subregion, by coaching and developing her/his direct reports. The position is field based in Mississauga, Ontario and will support the Ontario and Quebec sales teams. The Sales Manager’s role will be to strengthen the regional structure and sales model, build distinctive capabilities among the team and increase focus and accountability in the region. Primary objectives are to deliver revenue growth, ensure high retention/renewal rates and drive pricing improvement and profitability. Responsibilities Develop and execute sales and operating strategies within the area, leveraging resources to provide competitive advantages. Grow profitability and market share through new business development, contract renewal signings, and meeting or exceeding pricing targets. Co‑develop and strengthen sales force processes and capabilities across the team, bringing outside experience and best practices to improve performance. Lead and participate in the full sales life cycle, including prospecting, pricing, lead generation, presentations, negotiations, in‑person client meetings, proposal writing, relationship building, closing and account management. Maintain an active presence in the field (50%+ of the time) mentoring, coaching and developing field bulk and micro‑bulk sales representatives and Central Sales account managers. Apply strong cross‑functional knowledge of Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Commercial Technology, Industry segments, Legal, Operations and Logistics. Drive success at the customer by leveraging an extended team that includes SAMs, Liquid Bulk Account Managers, Commercial Technology, Central Sales, Asset Management, Business Development, Engineering, Logistics, and sometimes global counterparts. Drive strong customer relationships and service level. Manage a team of approximately 6‑8 sales representatives. Qualifications Bilingual in Canada’s official languages – French and English strongly preferred. Significant prior experience in Sales, Sales Management, Product/Business Management, Commercial Technology and Marketing. Minimum 10 years’ experience with significant time spent in or in-depth exposure to the Industrial Gases business or closely related field. Undergraduate degree required; MBA desirable. Strong leadership, influencing and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead a large team of direct reports.
