Job Overview EDC’s Mid‑Market Lending (MML) Program provides senior and junior debt solutions to eligible Canadian companies seeking to expand internationally. The Quebec and Ontario workcells are hiring a Senior Associate to support origination, underwriting, execution, and portfolio management of debt transactions. Responsibilities Support senior team members in evaluating, triaging, and progressing new financing opportunities in line with program objectives and risk appetite. Contribute to transaction execution by assisting with financial analysis, credit assessment, and deal structuring. Prepare financial models, cash flow analyses, and supporting materials for new transactions and portfolio reviews. Assist in due diligence activities, including financial, legal, and business assessments. Draft sections of credit memoranda and supporting documentation for internal governance and decision‑making committees. Coordinate with internal partners such as Legal, Business Development, Finance, and Advisory teams throughout the transaction lifecycle. Monitor and manage a portfolio of existing assets, including covenant tracking and risk monitoring. Key Performance Indicators High‑quality analytical contribution to senior and junior debt transactions across multiple sectors. Timely and accurate financial analysis, modeling, and credit documentation. Effective collaboration with Financing Managers and internal stakeholders to support efficient transaction execution. Proactive support in monitoring portfolio performance and identifying emerging risks. Positive feedback from team members and internal partners regarding reliability, analytical rigor, and professionalism. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in corporate lending, structured finance, credit analysis, investment banking, or a related field. Foundational experience in financial analysis, credit assessment, and financial modeling. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely. Detail‑oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn within a team‑based transaction environment.
