Overview Our team is looking for a new Materials Planner! Reporting to the Bakery Leader, this position is responsible for planning, ordering, and managing bakery materials using MRP and SAP systems to ensure accurate inventory levels and continuous production support. It involves monitoring inventory accuracy, coordinating deliveries, maintaining master data, and collaborating with sourcing, planning, and production teams while escalating any material or process issues. The position also supports production scheduling and ensures proper tracking and receipt of ingredients and packaging materials. Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 Location: Kitchener, ON. Responsibilities Plan, order and replenish materials at bakery based on the sales requirements using MRP system and other tools as required. Keep a close eye on expiring materials and delisting materials as well new launches and work closely with Sourcing and Central Planning team. Improve inventory accuracy at the bakery to 98%+ (RM & PM). Ensuring Cycle counts of all raw materials and packaging items minimum once a period. Escalation of issues, when necessary, e.g., materials discrepancies higher than the tolerance, process discrepancies within the bakery, shortage of material etc. to Central planning team. Plan and schedule deliveries for all bulk Materials (Flour, Yeast, Oil, etc.). Based on the production Schedules and forecast, Plan, and schedule all palletized ingredients, packaging materials. Ensure accurate master data parameters maintain in SAP. Maintain appropriate inventory levels ensuring availability of material without overstocking. Own end to end Purchase order/Stock Transport Order creation and closing process in SAP. Ensure the Ing/Packaging is received by the Receivers in the plant by having proper quantities and batch code information in the system. Ensuring that the bakery production team maintains up-to-date and accurate information on the reporting system and escalating the issue when necessary. Act as backup for the Production Scheduler as required. Other duties as required. Requirements Previous experience in production planning in a manufacturing environment. Excellent analytical skills and understanding inventory planning fundamentals. A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Materials Management, Business, Operations Management or equivalent. Bright, driven and clear about your future career goals. Ability to learn fast, ambitious and come up with new innovative ideas. Positive attitude and a results-oriented mindset. SAP experience an asset. A demonstrated leader who easily interacts with others and is adept at leading and motivating a team to meet demands established by the schedule. Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilities. Work well in and support a team-based environment. Roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with a whatever-it-takes mindset to get the job done. Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights & weekends if needed.
