High School Chemistry Teacher / Tutor Oxford Learning Burlington Appleby‑Dundas is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about science, math, and helping students build skills in these areas. You will teach students from grades 9 to 12, with lessons pre‑planned by our proprietary method. Position Requirements All teacher‑tutors work after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). A commitment through the end of the school year and through the summer is preferred. The role is in‑person; relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable‑sector screening is mandatory. Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field. Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered. Teaching certification an asset. Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior chemistry and including (but not limited to) Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry and Calculus, as well as vectors, physics, and biology. Experience Some experience teaching/tutoring science and math at a Grade 9 to 12 level. Strong English written and oral communication skills. Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding. Ability to multitask and manage working with up to three students at a time. Responsibilities Teach up to three students at a time at different levels. Work in‑person (online teaching not required). Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies. Fill in post‑lesson notes. Complete daily student communication updates. Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times. Schedule Evenings, Monday to Thursday (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm).
