Senior Accountant (Public Accounting Firm) | Kitchener, Ontario *2 years experience minimum is required in a Canada based Public Accounting Firm* You know that feeling when a firm says they want good people, but what they really mean is cheap people who won’t complain. This isn’t that. I’ve just spent time with one of the Partners at this firm in Kitchener and the tone was refreshingly straightforward. They’re not chasing growth for the sake of it. They hire for long term. People stay here. That alone says a lot. This is a full service small to medium size public accounting firm Big enough to have proper clients and structure. Small enough that you’re not a line on a spreadsheet. The work is broad. You’ll take jobs from start to finish across compilations, reviews, tax compliance, and advisory work for owner managed businesses. If you enjoy variety and actually understanding your clients, you’ll feel at home. There’s no heavy siloing here. You’re trusted to own your work, speak to clients, and see things through properly. It’s public accounting the way a lot of people hoped it would be when they first got into it. A few things worth knowing up front: They pay overtime. Properly. There’s also a bonus approach tied to that. The firm shuts down for a full week over Christmas and New Year. In Summer, Fridays finish at noon. Not earth shattering perks. Just signs of a firm that treats people well and care. They’re based in Kitchener and value being in the office. How that looks in practice is a conversation, not a policy document. Best discussed directly with them rather than guessed at in an advert. They’re keen to meet good people. And they don’t see hiring as a short term fix. If you’re good at what you do, reasonably normal to work with, and want a public accounting role where you’re not constantly watching your back, this is worth a look. Feel free to reach out to Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment to discuss any questions. Ryan Jaiswal is a Recruiter for Distinct Recruitment. He is an ex Accountant who is a little better at recruiting than he was at doing T1s or reviewing financial statements. He’s handled public accounting recruitment since 2009, working closely with CPA firms across Ontario. Outside of work he’s a dad of young twins, so if flexibility or longevity matter to you, he’ll understand why you’re asking the questions you are. #J-18808-Ljbffr
