Tetra Tech is adding a Project Controller to our Power team based in Mississauga, Ontario. Position Summary We are currently seeking a Project Controller for our Mississauga office. This is an existing vacancy for which we are actively recruiting. The following responsibilities and qualifications outline the essential duties and required background for this role. Essential Job Functions Develop an understanding of the scope of work, schedule, estimate, and procurement/contracting plan for assigned projects. Participate in the establishment of project coding in cooperation with estimating and planning; convert the estimate into the control budget. Establish and maintain the project in the cost control database (standard software). Using data provided by Engineering Leads, establish engineering progress measurement formats in the engineering progress measuring system (standard software). Establish and maintain project change control system. Process information about commitments, actual cost, forecasts and changes supplied by procurement, construction, planning, engineering and estimating to produce reliable project cost reporting and forecasting. Collect progress data from engineering and process engineering progress reports. Prepare project summary reports and work closely with the billing specialist on monthly invoices. Produce clear and concise cost reports and graphs; generate cash flow reports as directed by the Project Controls Manager. Analyze variances between budgets and forecasts; inform project management about cost trends and propose appropriate recommendations. Assemble resource and revenue projections reports, projects auditing reports, cash flow reports, utilization reports for Division Management as directed by the Manager of Project Controls. Perform other cost‑related functions as assigned by the Project Controls Manager. Required Qualifications A university graduate with a Finance, Mathematics, or accounting background or an equivalent combination of studies and related experience. 4+ years of cost control experience in the engineering/construction field is considered an asset. Must be proficient with MS Project and Primavera P6, as well as MS Access, Excel, and Word. Competence in computerized project management and financial applications. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand as required and remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the workday. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, including continuous operation of a computer and other standard office equipment such as calculators, copiers, and printers. The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting. Periodic travel may be required and could involve limited exposure to extreme temperatures; travel may include air travel, during which the employee may be required to remain seated for extended periods. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000.
