Ready to bring your best?Saputo is seeking a Senior Project Leader, Engineering, for an existing opportunity within our organization. Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering – Cheese Plants, the Project Leader is responsible for planning, estimating, and carrying out capital projects related to the field across the Canadian division plants. The position is based in the Saskatoon plant in Saskatchewan. Travel across Canada will be required (30‑50% of the time).ResponsibilitiesPlan, manage, and support various capex projects for Canadian plants, including process installation, packaging, building, utilities, sustainability, environmental, health & safety & food safety.Establish preliminary concepts for equipment layout and present them to plants and related departments.Actively participate in the development and maintenance of installation standards.Coordinate and supervise execution of projects, including monitoring subcontractors and remaining available during work (perhaps outside regular working hours).Collaborate with the buyer in the engineering department, define equipment specifications, purchase offers, make their selection, and group purchases to optimize costs.Prepare budget and schedule estimates in close collaboration with operations and maintenance departments.Ensure rigorous management of the allocated budget and communicate progress regularly.Establish, monitor, and respect project schedules; communicate progress, problems, and solutions to the project team.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent training.Member of a professional engineering association in a Canadian province is an asset.5‑7 years of relevant experience in agri‑food is an asset.Knowledge of automation and controls is an asset.Knowledge of AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office suite including MS Project & OneNote.Excellent interpersonal skills and a field approach.Demonstrates a high degree of autonomy & motivation, ability to prioritize and manage emergencies.Have a car and a valid driver’s license.Be a team player and have an appetite for big challenges.Willingness to travel across Canada (30‑50%).BenefitsGenerous and complete benefit coverage with group insurance.Group retirement plan with employer contribution.Telemedicine and assistance program for employees and their families.Employee share ownership plan with employer match.Paid parental leave program.Paid time off: sick days, floater days, and volunteer day off.Opportunity to contribute to a collective RRSP & TFSA.Training and development programs.Saputo Flex program, flexible work environment (schedule/location/time off) according to department needs.Organized activities for employees and their families.Advantageous discounts on Saputo products.Salary $80,130 - $105,170, varying with experience, education, skills, and training.Equal Opportunity Saputo is an equal opportunity employer.
